Underworld Oracle Issue 6

 So the next issue of Underworld Oracle, Issue 6 was to be the last one in the usual fanzine A5 format.

It is A5 with a Yellow/Orange cardstock cover and white pages.  It is printed in Black.  It has increased to 32 pages.  The cover has a wraparound picture on the outside.

It was produced by Lou & Sarah Nisbit and  Phil Alexander.  With contributions from Ed Simbalist, John Norris, Tom Keenes and Clifford Haley.  They also thank Aly (presumably Aly Morrison).

It contains a new character class - The Tumbler.  It has an overland adventure to a couple of dungeons.

Various Age of Sail Wargame Rules

Over the years I have tried various Age of Sail Wargame Rules.  Here is what I think of some of them.  Rules for Wargaming Author Arthur Taylor Published by Shire Publications Ltd 1971 & 1976    I first came across these rules back in the 70s.  I used the Airfix kits cut along the waterline to play them. These Rules were published as part of the little 'Discovering' series of books. Arthur Taylors main premise for all the rules in this book is that no dice are used.  Success depends on the players skill at seeing the potentialities of the board and not the luck of the dice. The only time dice are used is to set and possibly change the wind speed and direction. Ship orders are written at the start of each turn and there is no initiative system so I assumed moves and firing were done simultaneously. Dr Who Miniatures

 I had a good friend, Stuart, with whom I played the Doctor Who Miniatures wargame.  We both collected various Dr Who figures and pitted them against each other across various Alien landscapes.  Sadly he died of Cancer.  I inherited his figures and I have integrated them into my collection.  We both had a lot of figures by a company called Black Tree Design.  So in his honour I have decided to collect their entire Doctor Who range. Between us we had a lot of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Doctor miniatures.  So I began buying 1st and 2nd Doctor minis to fill in the gaps and work forwards until I collected the set. I am storing the figures in A4 Decopatch boxes held in by foam. Box 1 The first box contains most of the 1st Doctor's Figures. Box 2 The second box contains the last few figures of the first Doctor, all the figures for the second Doctor and starts with the first few figures for the third Doctor.
